About The Position

This position is for a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) on a dynamic 32-bed unit specializing in caring for patients with Neurological disorders and those requiring Neurosurgical pre and post-operative care. The unit also provides care for patients with general medical-surgical, stroke, and trauma needs, offering high-quality, compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, supportive setting. The RN will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process, delivering safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. This involves using evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassion, and effective communication to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum. The role is based at Atrium Health Navicent The Medical Center, a nationally recognized academic medical center, Level 1 Trauma Center, and Magnet® hospital for nursing. It serves a large area, is licensed for 637 beds, and is the primary academic hospital for Mercer University School of Medicine. Atrium Health Navicent is part of Advocate Health, the third-largest nonprofit, integrated health system in the United States, employing 155,000 teammates across 69 hospitals and over 1,000 care locations.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
