RN - Residency Program - Neuro Oncology - Days
About The Position
Saint Luke's Hospital is looking for a Registered Nurse to join the dynamic Neuro Oncology Team. The Neuro Oncology unit is an inpatient unit that specializes in care of Oncology patients. This is a full-time position, 36 hours per week, with day shifts. The residency program is a 12-month, evidence-based program utilizing the NCSBN Transition to Practice model, featuring 1:1 preceptorship, dedicated mentors, and clinical educators. It aims to build confidence, clinical skills, and support a long-term nursing career. The role involves accountability for utilizing the nursing process, performing patient care, delegating tasks, supervising staff, and coordinating the plan of care for assigned patients. Collaboration with the healthcare team is essential for optimal patient outcomes. The clinical nurse must demonstrate proficiency and adhere to all policies, rules, guidelines, and procedures.
Requirements
- ASN degree
- BLS certification
- Less than 1 year Registered Nurse (MO) - National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NURSYS)
- Bachelor's Degree - Nursing

- Chemo certification is not required to be in hand to apply.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for utilizing the nursing process.
- Responsible for performing patient care.
- Responsible for delegating patient care tasks and for supervision of other patient care staff.
- Responsible for coordinating the plan of care for a group of assigned patients.
- Consulting with other members of the health care team when indicated to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Demonstrates proficiency and abides by policies rules guidelines and procedures.
