About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Neuro ICU FT Nights position. Located in Nashville, Tennessee, VUMC is a leading institution in patient care, education, and research. The Neuro ICU team cares for adult patients (18+) with a variety of neurological disorders, including stroke, hematoma, seizures, spinal cord injury, and brain/spinal tumor resection. This is a full-time night shift position, working 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, three times per week for a total of 36 hours per week, including some weekends. The role involves applying the nursing process to plan and implement patient care, including education and continuum of care planning, effective communication with the healthcare team, and collaboration in establishing patient goals and evaluating progress. The position also requires engaging in learning activities according to Board of Nursing standards.

Requirements

• LIC-Registered Nurse - Licensure-Others
• Relevant Work Experience
• Graduate of an approved discipline specific program
• 1 year of experience

Responsibilities

• Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning.

• Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
• Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.
