Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • State of Massachusetts RN licensure (or eligibility)
  • BLS Certification
  • NRP

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred.
  • Neonatal Care in level 2 or 3 Nursery experience preferred, inpatient pediatric experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Advocates for patients and families to ensure positive patient care outcomes.
  • Documents all changes as well as relevant information regarding patient’s response to intervention, therapeutic regimens, and patient progress as it relates to plan of care and patient’s response to teaching.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families' peers and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Includes patient, family, and caregivers in all aspects of care while ensuring that all explanations are understandable.
  • Attends deliveries when appropriate. Implements stabilization process according to NRP guidelines.
  • Responds effectively and professionally in a crisis situation.
  • Provides resources to assist patients and families with post-discharge needs.
