Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.
  • 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive, family-centered nursing care to critically ill neonates across a range of acuity levels
  • Perform continuous assessment, monitoring, and intervention for conditions such as prematurity, respiratory distress, congenital anomalies, and post-surgical recovery
  • Partner closely with neonatologists, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate individualized care plans
  • Utilize advanced technologies and evidence-based protocols to support optimal patient outcomes
  • Educate and support families through highly emotional and complex care journeys
  • Contribute to a fast-paced, highly specialized unit where clinical expertise and adaptability are essential
