Registered Nurse (RN) – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) - Full-Time Nights
About The Position
The Siratt Women's Center at Texas Health Hurst Euless Bedford (HEB) Hospital has a part-time opportunity for an experienced NICU RN. This role is within a 16-bed NICU unit with an average of 200 deliveries a month. The hospital is a Level III NICU with Maternal Designation III. Texas Health HEB is a 322-bed, acute-care, full-service hospital serving its community since 1973. It is located in the DFW mid-cities area and specializes in women’s services, perioperative services, heart and vascular care, acute care/med surg, intermediate care/step-down, oncology, behavioral health, and emergency medicine. Additional specialties include nuclear medicine, interventional radiology, respiratory therapy, and neuroscience care, including neurosurgery and stroke. Texas Health HEB is ANCC Magnet Designated, Joint Commission-certified in Chest Pain (PHAC), a Primary Stroke Center, a Level III Trauma Center, Level II NICU and Level III for maternal care. Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred
- RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Req
- NRP – Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days Req
- NRPA-Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days Req
- CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training - within 90 days
- 1 Year Experience as a Registered Nurse or completion of an RN residency program required
Nice To Haves
- 1 year of RN experience in NICU strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
