About The Position

The Women’s Center at Texas Health Ft. Worth, a MAGNET facility, has been named “Best Place to Have a Baby” and is a Maternal Level IV Designated facility. This full-time night shift position is for a Registered Nurse in the Neonatal ICU (NICU). The NICU is a 63-bed Level III unit that serves as a regional referral center for high-risk deliveries, admitting over 600 infants per year. The unit utilizes advanced services for complex and high-risk infants and is staffed 24 hours a day by neonatologists, pediatric sub-specialists, neonatal nurse practitioners, and skilled registered nurses. The role involves delivering care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation, while incorporating age-specific safety and infection control measures. The nurse will also initiate actions to meet patient and/or significant others' need for information and maintain continuity of patient care.

Requirements

• Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program OR (RN) Nursing Diploma
• CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency
• One (1) year experience as a Registered Nurse, or completion of an RN residency program required.
• RN – Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
• BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Required

Nice To Haves

• BSN is preferred
• One year of Neonatal ICU Level III RN experience strongly preferred
• Prefer 18 months or more NICU RN experience in an acute care setting
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days is required
• NRPA - Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 Days Required

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
