Pensionable Salary Enhancement - Nurses in eligible classifications may be eligible to earn an additional $5.95/hour when working full-time hours within a prescribed six-month reporting period. (Effective April 1, 2025 – March 31st 2027.) Position OverviewUnder the general supervision of the Manager Health Services, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional registered nursing services for patients, including those with complex and unpredictable health needs. These services include independent nursing services, administration of prescribed medical treatments, a leadership role within the health care team, and coordination of patient care and discharge. Please be advised that this position is comprised of NFA, L2, PRE-OP Assessment Clinic and B2 Surgery. Nurses will be expected to work in all geographic areas. Note: Please be advised that there are staggered start and finish times for day and evening shifts on this unit: Day shifts are between the hours of 0630 and 1545. Evening shifts are between the hours of 1130 and 2345. There are also standby on call shifts on this unit.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program required.
  • Current CRNM registration required.
  • Recent Surgical Nursing experience required.
  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
  • Current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment.
  • Skills assessment may be required.

Nice To Haves

  • Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
