Registered Nurse (N2) - Catheter Lab

Under the general supervision of the Manager Health Services, Heart Cath Lab, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assisting the Interventional Cardiologist with various cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures including: coronary angiograms; PTCA/CAS; RHC/LHC, shunt calculations and aortic and mitral valve insertions; rotoblation, intraaortic balloon pump insertion, use of intravascular ultrasound, and temporary pacemaker implantation.
Requirements
- Graduate from an approved School of Nursing required.
- Current registration or eligibility for registration, with C.R.N.M. required.
- Current B.L.S. certification required.
- A minimum two (2) years’ recent nursing experience required.
- Prior experience in ICU or a minimum of three (3) years in Adult Emergency Room is Required.
- Recent experience caring for acute patients in a clinical setting required.
- Proficient with computers, software programs, and applications such as Windows and Word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Manual dexterity and visual and aural acuity required.
Nice To Haves
- Successful completion of the Critical Care Nursing Orientation Program (CCNOP) theory and lab skills will be required if no applicants have the required ICU or Adult Emergency Room experience.
- Prior experience using Mac Lab or related software preferred.
- Advanced Assessment course or equivalent education is preferred.
- Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
- Current A.C.L.S. certification preferred.
- Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values.
