About The Position
You will gain professional growth, decision-making, mentoring, and collaboration in a fast-paced environment. You will provide inpatient care after surgery for highly acute surgical oncology patients (including head and neck) and general surgery patients, which encompasses pain management, drain/tube care, wound care, ambulation, discharge teaching, and medical management for general surgery patients awaiting an operation.
Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire required.
Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient care after surgery for highly acute surgical oncology patients (including head and neck) and general surgery patients.
- Manage pain, drain/tube care, wound care, and ambulation for post-surgical patients.
- Perform discharge teaching.
- Provide medical management for general surgery patients awaiting an operation.
