About The Position

The Maternal Newborn Service at Beverly Hospital provides comprehensive perinatal care in collaboration with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. This includes prenatal evaluation, intrapartum care, operative delivery care, postpartum care, maternal/newborn care as a couplet dyad, and special care for premature and newborns requiring a higher level of care. The department fosters strong interdisciplinary collaboration between labor and delivery, postpartum, newborn nursery, a level IIB special care nursery, the North Shore Birth Center, a parent education department, and a lactation consultation service. As a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Inpatient Team, you will be responsible for completing assessments and essential care for both Mother and Newborn, administering medications/treatments, observing patient progress, and evaluating therapies to ensure optimal outcomes. You will provide evidence-based care addressing the physical, developmental, emotional, and psychological needs of mothers, newborns, and families from admission through discharge. Additionally, you will collaborate with physicians and other medical professionals to develop individualized healthcare plans and support/educate patients and their loved ones for maximum outcomes, including knowledge of community resources upon discharge.

Requirements

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • L&D experience preferred
