The Center for Women at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton is a Texas 10-step facility with the “Best Place to Have a Baby” designation. This unit has a robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and an engaged leadership team. The unit has 23 beds for Postpartum/Newborn, Couplet Care, 12 LDR beds, 2 OR suites, 3 private recovery rooms, 6 Antepartum rooms and 4 private OB/ED beds. It also includes a Level III NICU with 16 beds in private rooms. The unit delivers an average of 175-200 babies a month and has 24/7 OB Hospitalist and Anesthesiologist support dedicated to Labor & Delivery. A new Women’s Tower opened in July 2022. The Registered Nurse (RN) will deliver care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process, including assessing the patient, planning care, intervening as appropriate, and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions. The RN will incorporate age-specific safety/infection control measures into patient care, initiate actions to meet patient and/or significant other's need for information, and maintain continuity of patient care between shifts, hospitals, and during transfers.
