About The Position

Registered Nurse (RN) Lactation Consultant. Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together. Work location: Texas Health Plano, 6200 West Parker Road, Plano, Texas 75093. Work hours: Part Time, 24 Hours; 7:00pm – 7:00am. Mother/Baby Department highlights: 36 bed Mother/Baby Unit, Active Unit-Based Council, Opportunities for personal growth through NCAP. Requirements

Diploma in Nursing or Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program required
One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days required
CPI – Crisis Intervention Training within 90 days and maintained annually required
RN – Registered Nurse upon hire required

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred
One year of Mother/Baby experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Assesses the patient
Plans the care of the patient
Intervenes as appropriate
Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
