About The Position
Registered Nurse (RN) Mom/Baby. Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together. Work location: Texas Health Plano, 6200 West Parker Road, Plano, Texas 75093. Work hours: PRN, 7:00am – 7:00pm; 6 shifts per 6 week schedule required. Mother/Baby Department highlights: 36 bed Mother/Baby Unit. Active Unit-Based Council. Requirements
- Diploma in Nursing or Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program required
- One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
- BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
- RN – Registered Nurse upon hire required
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred
- Two years of Mother/Baby experience strongly preferred
- NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days required
- CPI – Crisis Intervention Training within 90 days and maintained annually required
Responsibilities
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
