About The Position

Utilizes the nursing process as the frame of reference for practice as a professional registered nurse and provides direct nursing care to patients and families. The MICU specializes in the care of medical intensive care patients. Nurses care for patients with a wide variety of infectious disease, GI, cardiac, and respiratory conditions who require ventilator support and invasive pressure monitoring. The Registered Nurse, MICU utilizes the nursing process as the frame of reference for practice as a professional registered nurse and provides direct nursing care to patients and families. Training, evaluation and competencies for this role are overseen by a Nurse Leader to the department. MICU B is an eight bed ICU specializing in the care of the medical intensive care patient. Nurses care for patients with a wide variety of infectious disease, GI, cardiac respiratory conditions who require ventilator support and invasive pressure monitoring.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.
License Registered Nurse required.
Certificate 1 Basic Life Support required.
1-3 years related work experience required.
Basic familiarity with computers.
Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications.

Nice To Haves

Baccalaureate degree in Nursing strongly preferred.
Experience in a teaching hospital and specialty area expertise.

Responsibilities

Provides direct care to patients and makes necessary nursing judgments.
