Registered Nurse - MICU - Full Time - Day Shift
About The Position
CoxHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at CoxHealth South. This is a full-time position with a 36-hour work week, typically working from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM. The role involves providing direct and individualized care to acutely and critically ill patients in a highly technical and ongoing monitoring environment. The nurse will assess patient conditions, perform diagnostic tests, initiate treatments, and assist physicians with medical procedures. Responsibilities include monitoring and adjusting specialized equipment, interpreting electronic displays (e.g., intracranial pressures, central venous pressures, pulmonary artery pressures, cardiac rhythms, ventilator settings), and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The position offers opportunities for professional growth through in-hospital credentialing classes, a pay-it-forward program for certification exams, and a clinical ladder program with a potential bonus of up to $5,000 annually. Additional compensation includes $1.00 for certification pay and $1.00 for BSN pay.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program.
- RN license active in the state of Missouri.
- BLS must be obtained within 90 days.
- ACLS must be obtained within one year of hire.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate effective leadership abilities.
- Exhibits valuable time management skills.
- Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills.
- Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Previous nursing experience.
