About The Position

Sentara Virginia Beach GH is seeking an experienced Medical/Surgical or IMC RN to join the Resource Pool for their ED Holds in the Emergency Department. This role involves caring for patients admitted to a med/surg level of care awaiting a room. The RN is part of the Resource Pool and will float to IMC/Med Surg units when needed. The department is a 41-bed Level III Trauma ED with 6 beds dedicated to a lock-down psychiatric screening and treatment area. It is a stroke-certified ED that receives STEMI and psychiatric patients, treating approximately 150 patients per day with a dedicated radiology suite for plain film and CT imaging.

Requirements

ADN required, BSN or higher preferred.
Virginia or compact multistate RN (Registered Nurse) license in good standing.
BLS certification.
RN Experienced in a hospital setting.
Minimum of 18 months RN Experience in an IMCU or medical surgical unit.

Responsibilities

Works collaboratively with the ED team caring for patients admitted to a med/surg level of care awaiting a room.
Floats to IMC/Med Surg units when needed as part of the Resource Pool.
