About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Registered Nurse (RN) to join a Medical-Surgical unit within a busy acute care hospital setting. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive patient care to adult medical-surgical patients, collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, and demonstrate flexibility in supporting multiple clinical departments as needed. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (ADN or BSN required).
  • Active Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) License or valid Multi-State Compact License.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification.
  • Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification.
  • Current NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) Certification.
  • Nursys license verification required.
  • Minimum three (3) years of recent acute care Medical-Surgical nursing experience required.
  • Experience working in a hospital setting required.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record systems.
  • Ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to float between departments as needed.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-focused care.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous float pool or multi-unit experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct bedside nursing care to adult Medical-Surgical patients.
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing monitoring.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards.
  • Monitor patient responses to treatment plans and communicate changes in condition promptly.
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records documentation.
  • Collaborate with physicians, case managers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Assist with discharge planning and patient education.
  • Float to other clinical departments as required based on operational needs.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based nursing practices.
  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while promoting positive patient outcomes.
