About The Position

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical for an exciting Travel or Local job in Utica, NY.

Requirements

• Active RN license in New York State (NURSYS verification required).
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Stroke Stepdown RN experience.
• Required Certifications (AHA): BLS, NIHSS.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Must provide 2 recent professional RN references (Charge/Manager level).
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to adapt in a high-volume hospital setting.
• Flexibility to float between units as needed.

Nice To Haves

• Travel nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with conditions such as stroke, altered mental status, renal failure, COPD, CHF, pneumonia, and pulmonary complications.
• Monitor patients requiring specialized support, including dialysis, feeding tubes, and N/G tubes.
• Perform patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate treatment outcomes.
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely and accurately.
• Document patient care, interventions, and outcomes in Epic EMR.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and healthcare staff to coordinate care.
• Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatments, and discharge planning.
• Uphold infection control standards and hospital safety protocols.
• Float to other units as needed to support patient care demands.
• Mentor and support less experienced staff, demonstrating clinical leadership.
