About The Position

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality, patient-centered care through comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions. This role requires strong clinical judgment, collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, and adherence to professional nursing standards and hospital policies.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room RN experience
  • Minimum 1 year of ER travel nursing experience
  • Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • BLS and ACLS certifications (must be current)
  • Successful completion of facility-required Pharmacology and Basic Arrhythmia exams
  • Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Demonstrated competency in: IV administration and IV starts Ventilator care Telemetry monitoring

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of an approved De-escalation Certification Course preferred
  • TNCC, ENPC, and PALS certifications preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, effective patient care using the nursing process across all stages of treatment
  • Administer medications and monitor patient responses in accordance with established protocols
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete patient documentation throughout the admission
  • Perform ongoing patient assessments, including physical, psychological, and social needs, and contribute to discharge planning
  • Communicate assessment findings and care plans to interdisciplinary care team members
  • Demonstrate proficiency in emergency nursing skills and serve as a charge nurse when assigned
  • Utilize computerized nursing and clinical information systems effectively
  • Act as a clinical resource for staff orientation, education, and patient care support
  • Participate in unit meetings, mandatory education, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Support quality and safety standards, including infection control and blood/body fluid precautions
  • Maintain confidentiality and represent the hospital professionally within the community
  • Commit to continuous professional development and ongoing competency maintenance
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, visitors, and colleagues
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by nursing leadership
