More about our team 6A Telemetry & Progressive Care Unit is a dynamic, blended unit with 36 total beds: 24 Telemetry beds staffed at a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio 12 Progressive Care beds staffed at a 1:4 ratio You’ll care for a diverse patient population, including: Chest pain, arrhythmias, post-cardiac caths Post-pacemaker or ICD implants Respiratory distress, renal failure, pulmonary embolism Vascular interventions requiring high-risk anticoagulation Stable post-STEMI patients High-level oxygen support, IV drips, DKA Post-op and medical patients requiring enhanced monitoring This fast-paced, high-acuity environment offers exposure to “a little bit of everything,” making it an excellent place to grow your skills or explore future specialization. Requirements

  • current RN VA or compact state license
  • associate’s degree in nursing
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 6 months

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience in clinical area preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
  • Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
  • Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
  • Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
