About The Position
Gateway Regional Medical Center is looking for a Registered Nurse to join our Medical/Surgical team on nights. This is an opportunity to care for patients who need a skilled nurse at some of the most important moments of their lives while working with a team that understands that great patient care starts with great teamwork. Whether you're an experienced acute-care RN or a newer nurse ready to build your skills, we'd love to talk with you.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Illinois.
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Ability to successfully complete hospital orientation and required competency requirements.
Nice To Haves
- Medical/Surgical or other acute-care nursing experience.
- Current ACLS certification.
- Experience caring for patients with multiple medical diagnoses or complex care needs.
- New graduate RNs may be considered.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients and recognize changes in condition.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately.
- Use clinical judgment to prioritize care and respond to changing patient needs.
- Communicate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
- Educate patients and families about medications, treatments, diagnoses, and discharge needs.
- Promote patient safety, infection prevention, fall prevention, and quality outcomes.
- Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation.
- Participate in admissions, transfers, discharges, and transitions of care.
- Provide compassionate care while maintaining patient dignity and respect.
- Contribute to a positive, professional team culture.
- Participate in quality improvement and professional development activities.
