About The Position

UW Medical Center-Northwest - Medical-Surgical Unit at the Center for Behavioral Health and Learning has an outstanding opportunity for a Rotating Shift (days and nights) Registered Nurse. The Medical-Surgical Unit at the Center for Behavioral Health and Learning supports a wide range of individuals, including general acute care patients, telemetry monitoring patients, and patients with multiple behavioral health comorbidities. We have 50 beds split between two floors. This position will specifically work on our third floor, which has 25 beds. Our patients receive holistic treatment, addressing their physical, medical, and mental health needs. This is a regular position with a 90.00% FTE.

Requirements

• Active BLS
• Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State

Responsibilities

• Provide medical-surgical care to behavioral health patients, including those with psychiatric comorbidities
• Ensure patient safety protocols are followed, including restraint protocols
• Administer oral and injectable medications
• Monitor vital signs using telemetry equipment
• Assess and manage pain
• Provide education and discharge instructions to patients and their families
• Provide personalized care with compassion, dignity, and respect

Benefits

• BSN (or higher) premium - $1.00/hour
• Certification premium - $1.25/hour
• Night premium - $5.00/hour
• Weekend premium - $4.00/hour
• Sunday night premium - $3.00/hour
