About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Medical Surgical (Ortho) unit at Texas Health Dallas will deliver care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process, including assessing the patient, planning the care, intervening appropriately, and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions. This role also involves incorporating age-specific safety and infection control measures, initiating actions to meet patient and/or significant others' need for information, and maintaining continuity of patient care across shifts, hospitals, and during transfers. The Orthopedic unit is described as a cohesive team environment focused on improving the quality of care for patients with joint replacements and other orthopedic procedures, often with concurrent medical issues, where significant patient improvements are observed.

Requirements

Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing
1 Year of experience as a registered nurse in an acute care setting
RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days
