About The Position
Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients in an acute neuro medical-surgical unit, including post-operative and medically complex cases involving neurosurgery, neurology, ENT, and general surgery patients.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Minimum 2 years recent Medical/Surgical experience required
- AHA BLS certification required
- AHA ACLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Strong acute care and neuro experience required
- No local candidates within 50 miles
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for neuro and medical-surgical patients
- Monitor post-operative neurosurgery, neurology, ENT, and general surgery patients
- Perform frequent neurological assessments and document changes
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments as ordered
- Care for both ambulatory and total-care patients
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
- Support patient recovery and rehabilitation needs
- Maintain accurate documentation in EMR systems
- Ensure patient safety and infection control compliance
