Registered Nurse – Medical Stroke
About The Position
Indiana University Health is seeking passionate, experienced nurses to join their team on the Medical Stroke Unit at Ball Memorial Hospital. This unit is a newly remodeled, 25-private bed unit committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care. The unit utilizes a multidisciplinary team approach, specializing in the care of acutely ill medical/surgical patients with a primary focus on stroke patients. The role offers opportunities for professional growth, learning, and collaboration with top medical professionals within Indiana's largest and most comprehensive healthcare system.
Requirements
- Associates of Nursing (ASN) required.
- Graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program (exceptions may be made for candidates with over two years of acute care experience, subject to CNO approval).
- Current state of Indiana license as a Registered Nurse.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHA.
- Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to acutely ill medical/surgical patients, with a primary focus on stroke patients.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, patient care assistants, case managers, and secretarial support staff.
- Utilize critical thinking skills in patient care.
- Engage in patient and family advocacy.
- Participate in end-of-life care.
- Contribute to a teamwork-focused environment dedicated to quality care.
