About The Position

Sentara Careplex Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Medical Oncology unit. This 16-bed unit specializes in providing exceptional care for Solid Tumor Oncology, Hematology Oncology, and Surgical Oncology patients. The primary duties include assessing/admitting patients, rounding checks, giving medications, talking with family members, and being responsible for the overall care of patients. Services provided include Chemotherapy/Biotherapy drug administration, Pre/Post-Surgical Care, Hospice and Palliative Care, and Sickle Cell Management. The role offers opportunities for learning and professional growth in Oncology, with promotional opportunities into leadership or to advance the level of care in a variety of settings. Teamwork is exceptional, with everyone working together to ensure the best care for patients.

Requirements

• Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire
• RN-Associate’s Degree, or RN-Bachelor’s Degree, or RN-Diploma, or RN-Master’s Degree
• Certification in Chemotherapy/Biotherapy required after 6-months of hire.
