Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical ICU
About The Position
Hartford Hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Center and part of the Hartford HealthCare network, is seeking an ICU Registered Nurse (RN) for its Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) on Bliss 7. This 12-bed unit specializes in caring for patients with complex and highly acute medical issues, including respiratory failure, gastrointestinal bleeding, liver and kidney injury/failure, sepsis, and drug/alcohol withdrawal. The MICU is staffed 24/7 with a multidisciplinary team including Physician Assistants, Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, Registered Nurses, and medical house staff, operating under the supervision of a Critical Care Pulmonologist. The unit aims to develop staff into well-rounded, highly skilled medical professionals in a fast-paced environment that challenges critical thinking, medical knowledge, communication, and skillset.
Requirements
- Current Connecticut RN License.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN Required).
- BLS certification by the American Heart Association required prior to date of hire.
- Minimum one year acute care RN experience strongly preferred.
- In exceptional circumstances, Registered Nurses with an ASN/ADN who are currently in pursuit of a BSN or MSN may be considered.
- Graduate Nurses are encouraged to apply through the Critical Care Graduate Nurse Program.
