The Registered Nurse (RN) in Med Surg PRN is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care. This role involves engaging patients and families throughout their continuum of care, monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, and collaborating with the care team to influence care outcomes. The RN will uphold and promote a culture of safety, continuously evaluate patient, team, and unit outcomes, and administer medications and treatments as per clinical protocols. Effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution are essential, as is fostering team collaboration and appropriate delegation. The position requires pursuing professional development, maintaining certifications, adhering to ethical practices, and ensuring accurate EHR documentation. RNs may be required to float to other units to meet patient care needs and must demonstrate age-specific knowledge and skills.
