About The Position
We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) for a 12-week assignment in Viroqua, Wisconsin. This opportunity offers a collaborative work environment, supportive leadership, and the ability to care for a diverse patient population in a critical access hospital setting.
Requirements
- Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) License or valid Compact License required.
- Minimum 5 years of recent Med/Surg hospital experience required.
- Current BLS/BCLS Certification required.
- Current ACLS Certification required.
- Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills.
- Experience working independently in a fast-paced acute care environment.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records preferred.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult Med/Surg, Orthopedic, and pediatric overflow patients.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
- Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in status.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic documentation.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.
- Support safe patient care and effective discharge planning.
- Adhere to hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Deliver high-quality patient-centered care during overnight shifts.
