About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Medical Surgical (Med Surg) department will provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. This role involves implementing and monitoring patient care plans, recording and communicating patient condition, serving as a primary coordinator for patient care across disciplines, carrying out physician and nursing orders, and assessing and coordinating patient discharge planning needs with the healthcare team. The position is full-time with available shifts including Days, Nights, and Full Time Weekend Only Nights, working three 12-hour shifts per week with a rotating weekend schedule and self-scheduling options. A sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 may be available for full-time positions.

Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
