This is a seasonal Registered Nurse position in the Med/Surg unit, offered on a Per Diem basis for 8 or 13-week assignments. The role requires working three 12-hour shifts per week. The Registered Nurse (R.N.) independently provides holistic, individualized care using the Nursing Process for patients routinely seen on the unit. This includes demonstrating an advanced level of clinical competency, nursing judgment, teaching skills, and a commitment to improving the quality of patient care. The R.N. independently performs general and unit-specific clinical skills and contributes positively to the Sierra View Medical Center Department of Patient Care Services and the nursing profession. The position is responsible for assessment, treatment, and care appropriate to the ages of the patients served, requiring the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs and understanding of growth and development across all patient groups. The role also requires working scheduled hours, including holidays, call-backs, weeknights, weekends, and on-call duties, and participating in emergencies and community disasters as a designated disaster service worker.
