About The Position

This is a full-time Registered Nurse position in the Medical Surgical unit, working from 7 AM to 7 PM. The role requires a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a current unencumbered Nursing License in Alabama. The nurse must maintain their license with timely completion of CEUs and licensure acquisition. A minimum of two years of experience as a RN in Medical Surgical is required. The position involves providing age-specific healthcare to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The nurse must be able to work in an environment with potential exposure to communicable diseases, blood, and body fluids, and utilize CRT monitors. A demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and implement patient care in coordination with the team leader and following physician orders is essential. Maintaining a high degree of professionalism and a positive outlook is expected. The role includes participating in continuing education, hospital meetings, and in-services. A current CPR Certification is mandatory.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a current unencumbered Nursing License in Alabama as a Registered Nurse.
• License maintained with timely completion of CEU’s and a licensure acquisition.
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a RN in Medical Surgical.
• Must possess the following skills: organizational, verbal, interpersonal, customer relations, mathematical, analytical, grammar/spelling, read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions.
• Must possess the knowledge to provide age specific healthcare to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
• Must be able to work in an area where there is a possibility of exposure to communicable diseases and to blood and to body fluid and CRT (computer) monitor.
• Must maintain a high degree of professionalism and present a positive outlook at all times.
• Maintain a current CPR Certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide age-specific healthcare to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Plan, organize, and implement patient care in coordination with the team leader and following physician orders.
• Participate in staff pertinent continuing education according to hospital requirement by providing meetings and in-services on a regular basis.
• Maintain a current CPR Certification.
