About The Position

This is a full-time night shift position for a Registered Nurse in Medical-Surgical nursing. The role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the total nursing care of assigned patients. The RN utilizes communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to create individualized care plans, considering physiological, psychosocial, and cultural diversity. The position also includes supervising and delegating tasks to non-professional personnel to ensure optimal patient care. Competence in addressing age-related needs of specific patient populations is essential. The RN works under the direction of leadership and a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive clinical care in accordance with Riverside Health System's standards and facility goals.

Requirements

  • Program Graduate, Registered Nurse (Required)
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - State Department of Health Professions (Required)
  • CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Degree, Nursing (Preferred)
  • 1 year Staff Nurse experience (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient clinical and psychosocial needs according to standards of practice for the specialty or patient population.
  • Partner with patients and families to develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care, treatments, and procedures.
  • Incorporate evidence-based standards of practice and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team in care coordination.
  • Facilitate safe patient transitions to the next level of care.
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency to facilitate patient throughput and ensure consistent, competent, and ethical care.
  • Focus on quality patient outcomes when addressing service needs.
  • Coordinate and deliver individualized patient education and discharge-specific education to family/caregivers, evaluating for comprehension.
  • Accurately complete all required clinical and quality documentation consistently per RHS standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Delegate and prioritize tasks appropriately to facilitate quality patient care and service excellence.
  • Recognize and respond to emergency situations.
  • Evaluate resources and support needed and use systems to ensure needs are met.
