About The Position

This is a part-time night position (24 hours per week) for a Registered Nurse in the Medical Surgical unit at Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital. The role involves delivering patient care using the nursing process, including data collection, assessment, problem identification, care planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nurse will coordinate patient teaching and collaborate with health team members. Key functions include conducting patient assessments, analyzing data, creating and implementing care plans, administering medications safely, and serving as a point of contact for care coordination. The role also involves acting as a patient safety advocate and participating in quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process through data collection and assessment.
Identifies and determines the priority of patient’s problems/needs.
Evaluates the process and outcome of nursing care.
Coordinates, provides and directs patient teaching activities.
Coordinates the care provided by health team members.
Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.
Analyzes assessment data, creates a plan of care, implements treatment and evaluates treatment effectiveness.
Administers medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and organization policies and procedures.
Serves as point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments.
Acts as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department.
Incorporates the professional practice model into care delivery.
