About The Position

This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus. This role provides direct clinical patient care. The role will assume responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing direct clinical care to assigned patients on a per shift basis, and unit level. The role is responsible for supervision of staff to which appropriate care is delegated. The role is accountable to support CNO to ensure high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.

Requirements

Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
Current Texas State License for Registered Nurse.
Active healthcare provider Basic Life Support (ARC or AHA) on hire.
Must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.

Bachelor's Degree
2 years in acute care for Med/Surg
Non-Violent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer into department (for RN in Behavioral Health)
ACLS (AHA) must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into the unit (for Dialysis Department)
Non-Violent Crisis Intervention for Behavioral Health must be obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer into role (for Behavioral Health Unit)

Responsibilities

Assessing, planning, and implementing direct clinical care to assigned patients on a per shift basis and unit level.
Supervising staff to whom appropriate care is delegated.
Supporting CNO to ensure high quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care.
Ensuring competency of clinical staff.
Managing appropriate resources related to patient care.
