About The Position
Sentara Obici Hospital is hiring a Registered nurse for a Part Time, Day shift in Suffolk, VA! The Medical-Surgical Unit at Sentara Obici Hospital is a great place to learn and grow, supported by a longstanding leadership team and strong preceptors dedicated to mentoring new nurses. The Med Surg has 21 bed unit. A general med surg - sees all types of patients - great variety and you will see a good mix of patients. This unit offers a collaborative, supportive environment ideal for both new graduates and experienced nurses seeking to enhance their skillset. Unit coordinators are on staff, ensuring smooth operations and quality patient care. Sentara Obici Hospital is a certified stroke center and a designated Magnet hospital recognized for excellence in patient care, making it a truly rewarding place to develop your nursing career while making a meaningful impact.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
- Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License.
- BLS required within 90 days of hire
- None required (experience)
- Registered nursing License (Required)
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)
- Students in the process of completing an accredited nursing program.
- 1 year of acute care (preferred)
- Previous healthcare experience (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.
- Assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation.
- Ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing.
- Possess clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
