About The Position

Provides safe and effective delivery of patient care through assessment, goal setting, and outcome evaluation, using a systems theory approach. Practices within the parameters of the Illinois Nursing and Advanced Practice Nursing Act and Anderson Hospital policies and procedures. Practices autonomously in accordance with professional nursing standards, providing care primarily to adult and geriatric populations. Performance expectations are defined in the competency evaluation.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Illinois nursing license or eligibility for Illinois licensure.
BLS certification required.

Nice To Haves

One year of medical-surgical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Effectively use the nursing process to ensure optimal nursing care and patient outcomes.
Engage in activities to expand or enhance the professional nursing role, including integration of research and evidence-based practices.
Provide leadership and autonomy in the professional practice setting and the profession.
Support patients’ rights and responsibilities, including respect for cultural, ethical, and religious diversity.
Provide age-appropriate and population-specific patient care safely, skillfully, accurately, and efficiently, primarily to adult and geriatric populations.
Assess patient and family learning needs and provide ongoing education and evaluation.
Document readiness to learn, teaching, barriers, and outcomes.
Complete documentation accurately and in a timely manner according to hospital policies and procedures.
Adhere to standard precautions and infection control standards.
Respond to Code Blue and Rapid Response Team calls and delegate appropriately.
Remain flexible with scheduling, assignments, and job duties as necessary.
Monitor telemetry.
