About The Position

Registered Nurse (RN) Med Surg Dept. Bring your passion to Texas Health where we are Better + Together. Work location: Texas Health Southwest, 6100 Harris Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76132. Work hours: Full Time 7P-7A– Rotating Weekends and Holidays. Department highlights: Self-Scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth. Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team. Patients are admitted to the Med surg Tele (36 bed) unit for inpatient and observation surgical, gyn, gastro, ortho, spine, urology, infectious disease and general medicine with remote tele. Med/surg Tele Department is known for its positive culture, great preceptors, teamwork, and exceptional customer service!

Requirements

Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
BLS prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required.
CPI training within 90 days of hire (required)
ACLS within 90 days of hire (required)
1 year RN experience required in acute care setting or completion of an RN residency program required

Nice To Haves

Strong Med/surg RN experience in acute care setting preferred

Responsibilities

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
Assesses the patient
Plans the care of the patient
Intervenes as appropriate
Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
