About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) will work on the Med Surg Telemetry unit at Texas Health Southwest. This 36-bed unit admits patients for inpatient and observation across various specialties including surgical, gyn, gastro, ortho, spine, urology, infectious disease, and general medicine with remote telemetry. The department is recognized for its positive culture, excellent preceptors, teamwork, and exceptional customer service. The role involves delivering care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. It also requires incorporating age-specific safety and infection control measures, initiating actions to meet patient information needs, and maintaining continuity of patient care across shifts and transfers.

Requirements

• Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required
• Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
• BLS prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required.
• CPI training within 90 days of hire (required)
• ACLS within 90 days of hire (required)
• 1 + years RN experience required

Nice To Haves

• BSN preferred
• Strong Med/surg RN experience in acute care setting preferred

Responsibilities
