About The Position

This travel role focuses on the care of adults with acute and chronic kidney disease, post-dialysis needs, and complex medical-surgical conditions. The assignment is for a 13-week duration in a 19-bed Renal Med-Surg unit within a clinical setting. The position requires proficiency in Epic EMR for seamless documentation and coordination of care.

Requirements

Active Ohio RN license (required at submission)
Current BLS certification
Minimum 3 years of recent Med-Surg and Telemetry experience; renal experience strongly preferred
Proven ability to independently read and interpret telemetry strips
Epic EMR proficiency required; no training provided; lack of Epic proficiency could result in termination
Ability to float within scope to similar Med-Surg units as needed
Competency test required on Day 1; failure results in immediate contract termination
Must be able to work the night shift and meet on-site requirements

Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult renal and medical-surgical patients
Manage patients with acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, and post-dialysis needs
Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry; respond to rhythm changes and hemodynamic shifts
Collaborate with nephrologists and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
Float as needed within scope to similar Med-Surg units (Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Cardiac, Observation, ED boarders)
Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Epic EMR; ensure safety and adherence to care standards
Administer medications and interventions per physician orders; advocate for patient safety and quality care
