About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN), a member of Advocate Health Nursing Professional Governance community, provides high-quality, patient-centered care through evidence-based practice, clinical expertise, and compassionate care delivery in an acute care setting. The RN collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, advocates for patient needs, and upholds professional practice standards to promote optimal health outcomes. This role is in a dynamic Med/Surg Overflow Unit with 9 beds, serving a diverse array of patients with various diagnoses, including direct admissions, pre-surgery patients, and those in recovery.

Requirements

Graduate of a Board of Nursing–approved nursing program
Active, unrestricted RN license (multi-state compact and/or state-specific based on practice location)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
At least 1 year of clinical nursing experience

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Additional certifications or experience may be required based on specialty

Responsibilities

Deliver safe, patient-centered nursing care across the continuum by leveraging the nursing process, administering treatments per protocol, and adapting care based on patient needs.
Collaborate effectively with the care team while maintaining accurate documentation, supporting quality and safety initiatives, and upholding professional standards, ethics, and ongoing development.
Float as needed to other units.
