About The Position

Start Your Nursing Career at Glens Falls Hospital As a new graduate nurse at Glens Falls Hospital, you’ll participate in our ANCC-accredited Nurse Residency Program with a Magnet-recognized organization committed to nursing excellence and professional development. Designed to support the transition from nursing school to professional practice, the program combines structured orientation, hands-on clinical experience, educational sessions, and ongoing mentorship throughout your first year. You’ll work alongside experienced nurses, dedicated preceptors, and Clinical Nurse Educators who are committed to helping you build confidence, strengthen clinical judgement, and establish a strong foundation for a successful nursing career.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a Registered Professional Nursing Program.
  • New hires will be required to complete their BSN within 5 years of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Rotational experience across Glens Falls Hospital’s Medical-Surgical (Medical, Inpatient Oncology, Surgical, and Telemetry) units before matching to a home unit.
  • Dedicated preceptor support and individualized clinical orientation
  • Orientation progress meetings to support professional growth and development
  • Six months of structured educational sessions focused on clinical skills, critical thinking, prioritization, communication, and patient safety
  • Ongoing mentorship from a Clinical Nurse Educator throughout your first year
  • A professional development day focused on peer support, career development, and nursing excellence
