Registered Nurse Manager Surgical Services
About The Position
This role is for a Registered Nurse Manager of Surgical Services at Dell Children's Medical Center North in Austin, TX. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, with a day schedule. The manager will lead operations, workflows, and nursing resources for efficient patient care delivery, ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements, and strengthen patient safety and clinical quality. Responsibilities include directing staff hiring, training, development, and evaluation, coordinating the resolution of patient care issues with the interdisciplinary team, and monitoring nursing unit budgets to maintain financial compliance while supporting patient care.
Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.
- 3 years of experience required.
- 1 year of leadership or management experience required.
Nice To Haves
- 3 plus years OR, PACU, Periop RN leadership experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead Nurse Manager operations, workflows, and nursing resources to support efficient patient care delivery across assigned nursing units.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements, strengthening patient safety, clinical quality, and consistent standards across assigned nursing units.
- Direct staff hiring, training, development, and evaluation to build capable nursing teams and maintain high-quality patient care services.
- Coordinate resolution of patient care issues, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to improve service delivery and patient outcomes.
- Monitor nursing unit budgets, approving expenditures and purchases to maintain financial compliance while supporting safe, effective patient care.
