About The Position

Ascension Seton Medical Center Hays is seeking a Registered Nurse Manager for their Operating Room in Kyle, TX. This full-time, day shift position involves leading daily operations and workflow for the nursing unit, ensuring safe staffing, efficient care coordination, and high-quality patient care delivery. The role also includes ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, managing departmental resources and budgets, and hiring, training, coaching, and evaluating nursing staff.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • 3 years of experience and 1 year of cumulative leadership experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations and workflow for the nursing unit, ensuring safe staffing, efficient care coordination, and high-quality patient care delivery across the interdisciplinary team.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and clinical policies while maintaining accurate clinical documentation within Electronic Health Records (EHR/EMR).
  • Hire, train, coach, and evaluate nursing staff, supporting professional development and strengthening collaboration to deliver safe, effective direct patient care.
  • Identify and resolve barriers affecting patient care services while managing departmental resources and budgets to maintain operational efficiency and quality outcomes.
  • Monitor departmental budgets and approve expenditures to ensure responsible resource management while maintaining operational efficiency and high standards of patient care.
