About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse Manager in the Operating Room at Ascension Seton Medical Center Hays in Kyle, TX. The position is full-time with a day shift schedule. The manager will lead daily operations and workflow for the nursing unit, ensuring safe staffing, efficient care coordination, and high-quality patient care delivery. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and clinical policies, while maintaining accurate clinical documentation in Electronic Health Records (EHR/EMR). The role also involves hiring, training, coaching, and evaluating nursing staff, supporting professional development, and strengthening collaboration. Additionally, the manager will identify and resolve barriers affecting patient care services, manage departmental resources and budgets, and approve expenditures to ensure responsible resource management and high standards of patient care.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • 3 years of experience and 1 year of cumulative leadership experience required.
  • Employer does not participate in E-Verify and therefore cannot employ STEM OPT candidates.

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations and workflow for the nursing unit, ensuring safe staffing, efficient care coordination, and high-quality patient care delivery across the interdisciplinary team.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and clinical policies while maintaining accurate clinical documentation within Electronic Health Records (EHR/EMR).
  • Hire, train, coach, and evaluate nursing staff, supporting professional development and strengthening collaboration to deliver safe, effective direct patient care.
  • Identify and resolve barriers affecting patient care services while managing departmental resources and budgets to maintain operational efficiency and quality outcomes.
  • Monitor departmental budgets and approve expenditures to ensure responsible resource management while maintaining operational efficiency and high standards of patient care.
