About The Position

A Registered Nurse Manager Medical is the managerial level of work planning and coordinating the provision of nursing care for all shifts within a Residential Intermediate Care Facility for the treatment of Substance Use Disorders. This position directly supervises all RNs and LPNs. This includes supervising Registered Nurse Supervisors and Registered Nurse Charges and through them indirectly supervises subordinate staff positions considered a part of the nursing care team. This position is also responsible for supervising and coordinating nursing care services provided at a 40+ bed facility. This is a professional service level position that provides supervision and directs the work of a diversified team, monitors the utilization of best practice treatment modalities and that quality standards of care are given. In addition, responsibilities include compliance with AF Whitsitt Center policies & procedures, COMAR regulations, CARF accreditation standards and as assigned, program oversight for grant funded services.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a health-related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Four years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Two years of experience in the Medical option.
  • One year in a supervisory, administrative or consultative capacity.
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing or possess a current multi-state license.
  • Employees assigned duties requiring the operation of an automobile must possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
  • Must provide the facility with a phone number at which they can be reached due to being subject to call-in.

Responsibilities
