This Per Diem Registered Nurse position in the Main PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) for night shifts involves practicing in accordance with the American Nurses Association's (ANA) scope and standards of nursing practice. The successful candidate will utilize clinical expertise to plan and deliver safe, therapeutic, and population-specific patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. With a patient and family-centered approach, the role incorporates the unique characteristics and needs of each patient and family into the care delivery process. Collaboration within a multidisciplinary Healthcare team is essential to promote wellness and optimize patient outcomes. This role also involves leadership through orienting, mentoring, and managing team members to ensure compassionate, dignified, respectful, and efficient quality care. Participation in unit, departmental, and/or institutional performance improvement initiatives that impact patient, family, and service outcomes, based on professional practice standards, is also a key component.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required for employees hired after 9/1/2020 (those who were hired prior to 9/1/2020 are grandfathered).
• Current and valid New York State Registered Professional Nurse license.
• Current and valid BLS certification.
• Knowledge of standards of practice for all areas of patient care.
• Excellent communication (oral and written), organizational, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• 1 - 2 years Nursing experience.
• Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
