About The Position

The Children's Heart Center at URMC, Ambulatory Care Center (AC-1) is seeking a Registered Nurse Level 2. This full-time position is within the Adult Congenital Heart Program, a growing pediatric cardiology subspecialty practice that provides patient- and family-centered care for adults with congenital heart disease. The role involves comprehensive patient care management, including telephone triage, communicating results, providing patient education, and offering counseling and support to families and physicians. The Nurse will deliver anticipatory guidance directly to patients, exercising independent judgment with the support of the provider team. The position also includes supporting cardiac exercise testing. Requirements

  • Active New York State RN license
  • A minimum of three years of nursing experience is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric nursing experience preferred
  • Pediatric cardiac nursing experience highly valued
  • Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for provision of competent direct patient care based on established standards.
  • Contributes to unit activities and supports enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level.
  • Supports peers in the delivery of patient care services and assumes an expanded role which may include charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities.
  • Comprehensive patient care management, including telephone triage, communicating results, providing patient education, and offering counseling and support to families and physicians.
  • Deliver anticipatory guidance directly to patients, exercising independent judgment with the support of the provider team.
  • Supporting cardiac exercise testing.
