Registered Nurse Lead (RN) - OR
About The Position
Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. The role involves implementing and monitoring patient care plans, coordinating with various disciplines for patient care, and managing discharge planning needs. The Registered Nurse Lead is responsible for comprehensive patient assessments, identifying patient problems, planning and setting goals in collaboration with patients and families, implementing care plans, and evaluating patient status and care effectiveness. They also play a key role in care coordination, delegation, supervision, and prioritization.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Continuing education requirements as defined within the CARE program.
- One (1) year as an RN.
- Valid current Arizona Nursing License or compact state license and ability to become Arizona Licensed in 30 days.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association.

Responsibilities
- Implements and monitors patient care plans.
- Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
- Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
- Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
- Conducts initial assessment, re-assessment, and focused assessment based on patient condition, setting and population.
- Identifies patient problems and formulates a plan of care, establishing daily goals with the patient and family.
- Implements nursing care according to the care plan, ensuring continuity of care and documenting in the patient's record.
- Ensures patient safety.
- Administers medications.
- Provides ordered treatments.
- Educates patients and families.
- Provides nursing care.
- Documents care in the healthcare record.
- Evaluates patient status and effectiveness of nursing care, modifying the care plan as needed.
- Manages and corrects the sequence, timing, and/or effectiveness of patient care from admission to discharge.
- Delegates tasks and supervises staff.
- Prioritizes patient care.
